hey friendly friends. not feeling great today - hopefully just a transient little viral bug that will go away asap. anyway, i headed to the grocery store to whip up a vegetarian version of my favorite broccoli cheddar comfort soup and i realized how much i miss my family. when i lived at home my dear mother took such good care of me when i felt under the weather.

you know what? even though it is hard to live so far away, i can't help but be grateful for the people whose absence i feel so deeply. winnie the pooh says it best:

How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.

now let's just hope this pharyngitis goes on its merry way.
