back!

sorry dears, about the hiatus [once again]. i do hope you've come to expect that i should duck out occasionally when i'm feeling especially overwhelmed with life in general. don't worry, though, i'm back in the game. it's hard to stay in a funk for too long when the weather outside is this lovely. eleanor is loving all the extra time playing with her favorite toy - laser the dot that cannot be caught - in the park across the way. she is also enjoying the long afternoons of studying on the patio [as am i].

i used a bit of extra motivation to make a vegetable risotto with a side of steamed asparagus to enjoy on the patio with a bit of chilly white wine for dinner last night. the way i described it makes it sound 100% better than it is, because the leftovers today appear gloppy and sticky and gross. i hope i can summon the strength to eat it again for a few days, as i made like 15 servings. 

finally, just a few snippets from an average w-a-l-k with the hound dog [the view from where i stand, if you will]. we love getting out and about in the neighborhood to:

1. say hi to neighbors

2. get our vit d 

and, most importantly, 

3. pilfer lilac blossoms from 1 of the 3 bushes within a 2 mile radius.

slow news day

yesterday while doing my cleaning thang i decided to put the rascal in a pappose [due to her behaving like a rascal]. she fell right asleep! i'm not sure if there has ever been a funnier or cuter thing!

oh wait, there is a cuter thing: my bff kitty cat's engagement photos taken by the talented lacey crough! i am so excited to be a part of kitty and eric's big day in september. they are a wonderful couple and wonderful friends and that is an understatement.

some craftiness

hi team! it's a monday! i didn't do much other than finish up some crafts so i can concentrate on school with a put together apartment. here i what i finished up:

you'll notice the felt ball garland, one of my favorite mary oliver quotes, a vintage pic from steamboat springs in 1948, and various eleanor inspired art (a silhouette and a picture graciously bestowed on us from none other than danny stone of smelly ellie and me at the supreme court now grace the wall above her "room"). i also incorporated lotsa this new amaaaazing fabric my lovely auntie po bought for me at the awesome urban arts and crafts in kc.
