today was such a lovely morning. even though eleanor and i hustled down to the supreme court, got obscenely sweaty, and got up close and personal with all sorts of humans, it was all totally worth it when scotus blog announced the ruling - that the aca would be upheld completely except for one provision re: expansion of medicaid and the crowd erupted in cheers of usa! usa! usa! what a relief that was! ellie and i are proud to be americans today.
however, we can't forget:
"making the mandate work requires convincing americans that the new health care law is not a plot to destroy the nation. americans would have to embrace universal coverage as a desirable goal for a rich industrial society. otherwise . . . the supreme court’s decision will be beside the point."
